Martha Underwood Jenkins

Mrs. Martha Underwood Jenkins, 89, of Kernersville, NC, passed away on August 11, 2025, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Martha was born in Salem, VA, on April 27, 1936, to the late Mr. Robert Lee Underwood and Mrs. Lessie Woodyard Underwood.

Mrs. Jenkins was a lifelong, faithful member of Walburg Baptist Church. She spent countless moments serving her Lord and Savior Jesus until her health permitted her from doing so. She loved to travel, especially to the beach. Above all, she loved her family and being a grandma,

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in passing by her loving husband of 53 years, William P. Jenkins; her stepmother, Ruth Underwood; two brothers, Clarence and Billy Underwood; and a sister, Hazel Underwood.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her two sons, Gary Jenkins (Allison) and Glen Jenkins; a daughter, Penny Boles; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, James and Doug Underwood.

A private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
