Martha Wilson

Martha Wood Wilson, age 68, of Mocksville, native and former resident of Watauga County, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at her home with her loving husband by her side after a 3-year struggle with cancer. However, cancer should not be how Martha is remembered. She was a follower of God, who loved singing in the choir, quilting, sewing, helping others less fortunate, playing with her granddaughters, and always enjoyed time visiting with family and friends. She was born on July 16, 1949 in Watauga County as the only daughter of the late Dale & Georgia Wood. She is survived by her devoted husband, Roy Roger Wilson; her two beloved sons, Paul Dale Wilson (wife, Pam) and Loyd Roger Wilson (wife, Dawn) and two cherished granddaughters, Gabby and Alexa. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 12:30 until 1:45 pm at the Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel in Advance NC. Immediately following, the funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm officiated by Reverend Sylvia C. Wilhelm.
