Martha Thelma Stevens

Mrs. Martha Thelma Martin Stevens, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2019.  She was born in Stokes County on February 22, 1936 to the late Thomas Augustus Martin and Emma Smith Martin.  Mrs. Stevens was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville.  She enjoyed attending all of her “Grands” sporting events, where she was their #1 fan.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Sechrist and three brothers: Wayne, Ray, and Aubrey Martin.  She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Marshall Stevens; son, Mike Stevens (Tiana) of Rural Hall; daughter, Robin Tuttle (Brian) of Rural Hall; three grandchildren: Kristin Martin (Gregg) of Pinnacle, Jonathan Stevens (Michela) of King, and Lauren Tuttle of Rural Hall; five great-grandchildren: Carson Stevens, Colton Martin, Cobey Martin, Silas and Maggie Stevens; one sister, Mary Kiger; and two brothers, Donald Martin (Kornella) and Tommy Martin.  A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Crestview Memorial Park with the Rev. Eddie Honeycutt and Pastor T. Welch officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville, 851 Ziglar Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.  The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all the nurses, cargivers, and special friends who helped take care of Mrs. Stevens.
