Marty Daniel Hewett

Marty Daniel Hewett, 57 of Kernersville NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at his home.

Marty was married to Susan Vaughan Hewett for 35 years until she passed away on September 1, 2024 after a short illness.

Marty was born November 25, 1967 in Winston-Salem, NC - Son of Earl and Annie Hewett of Kernersville, NC. He grew up the youngest with 2 sisters, Heidi Hewett Chambers of Kernersville, Leigh Tillman Bodenheimer of Colfax, and one brother Nicky Jack Hewett, Hampstead, NC. He is survived by Leigh and Nicky. Uncle Marty has many beloved nieces and nephews, Tommy, Richard, Zachary, Austin, Brandon, Lydia, Teddy and Annie that he loved to spend time with.

Marty had a passion for the outdoors that he shared with his beloved wife and friends, including camping, fishing, especially at the beaches, and canoeing on mountain rivers. Marty enjoyed music of all types but especially live concerts and the Grateful Dead, he would travel to see shows with friends and family.

Marty and Susan had a love for animals, and they were always helping rescue dogs and cats to help find homes or raise money for spay and neuter drives. They have helped a great number of strays find homes and kept many as pets themselves.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel located at 3950 Macy Grove Road. This will be a casual gathering of friends and family for a celebration of life from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. (Tie-Dye optional)
