Marvin Nickels

Mr. Marvin Dewey Nickels, 71, of Advance, passed away at his home Monday, March 4, 2019. He was born January 6, 1948 in Heidelberg, Germany, to the late Dewey and Virginia Burke Wright Nickels. Mr. Nickels retired from Austin Company with thirty-one years of dedicated service. He loved bluegrass music, camping, and his dogs. Mr. Nickels will be always be remembered as a great man that always strived to help others.

Preceding him in death are his parents, a brother, John Paul Nickels, and a sister, Betty Sue Frogge. Surviving are: his son, John Nathaniel Nickels; a brother, Steven Scott Nickels; Richard Nickels, Chris Nickels, Amy Pierce (Darin) and many more nieces, nephews, and cousins; and an ex-wife and lifelong friend, Mary Nickels-Newman.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to the Humane Society of Davie County, 291 Eaton Road, Mocksville, NC 27028.
