Mary Tilley

Ms. Mary Anne Tilley, 72, of Winston-Salem, NC died Friday, November 2, 2018 at her home.  The daughter of the late Clarence E. and Mary S. Tilley, Mary Anne was born September 5, 1946 in Winston-Salem, NC.  She had many happy memories of being raised on Franklin Street surrounded by her loving and extended family.  A life-long member of Calvary Moravian Church, Mary Anne was active as long as her health permitted, serving as a lovefeast deiner and Sunday School teacher for junior and senior youth.  She was a 1964 graduate of R. J. Reynolds High School and a 1966 graduate of Mitchell Community College.  She later completed training as a para-legal before retiring from Sara Lee.  In addition to her parents, Mary Anne is preceded in death by a brother, Edward Tilley and a number of treasured aunts, uncles and cousins.  A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 AM in Salem Moravian Graveyard, “God’s Acre” to celebrate Mary Anne’s life.  Memorials may be made to Calvary Moravian Church, 600 Holly Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.  The arrangements are by Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
