Mary Atkins

Walkertown- Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Donathon Atkins, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 27, 2018 at her residence. She was born on Jun 7, 1939 in Patrick County, Va to Grover Lee and Mary Bowan Donathon. She was the most humble woman that anyone could ever meet and was the best mother to her children. Mary was a great cook and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Atkins, one daughter Debbie Walker, sister, Myrtle Pack, and a brother, Gene Pack,
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Tullock (husband, Dennis Lee); two sons, Jimmy and James Walker; six grandchildren, Ronnie, Dennis, Elizabeth, Michelle, Misty, and Anthony; 17 great grandchildren; a sister, Bertie Tilley, her good friend, Sandra Matthews; and her best friend, Mary Dean.

A service for Mary will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Lay Person Ronnie Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 2:45 pm prior to the service.
