Mary Shelton, 95, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Brookstone of Clemmons. Mrs. Mary Belle Ingool Shelton was born August 21, 1930, in Surry County, the daughter of Denver and Ada Gentry Ingool. Mary was a homemaker that loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grans. She was a lady of strong faith and loved her Lord and Savior. She was the best prayer warrior you will ever know. Mary was a member of Rural Hall Church of God. She was loved by everyone who met her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Shelton; two brothers, Jack and Thomas Ingool; four sisters, Opal Burgess, Ruth Evans, Kathleen Holbrook and Carolyn Ousley. She was also preceded in death by a special friend, Robert Staib. Mary is survived by two daughters, Kathi Owens of Missouri and Teresa Creson (Leonard) of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Brian Shelton (Tiffany) of SC, Wesley Creson (Cindy)of Winston-Salem, Tracy Hill (Barry) of Winston-Salem and Amanda Harvey (T.J.) of Missouri; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Glen VanMeter, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Medi Hospice of Davidson County or the charity of the donor’s choice. A special thanks to past and present staff of Brookstone of Clemmons for taking such good care of mom over the years and also to Medi Hospice of Davidson County for their great care.
