Mary "Bernice" Ledford Widener

Kernersville- Mrs. Bernice L. Widener, 87, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle and was retired from Lucia, Inc. She loved to quilt, work with her flowers and fish off the coast. Devoted to her family, she loved her church and her church family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 39 years, Robert Clayton Widener and four sister, Peggy, Hilda, Hazel and Delphine.

Survivors include her three daughters, Nancy McCormick (Gerald), Deborah McCormick (Charles) and Sally Duncan (Perry) all of Kernersville; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and many great great-grandchildren; and special niece, Erna. 

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
