Mary Elizabeth White Brewer

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth White Brewer passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born June 1, 1927 in Yadkin County to the late Walter & Rose White. Mrs. Brewer retired from WS/FCS and was a charter member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. She was involved in Meals on Wheels and the Nifty 50 Group-Women's Circle. She loved to cook and garden. Mrs. Brewer enjoyed traveling with her friends and the Friday Night Supper Group at Southern Family Restaurant. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her husband of 49 ½ years, John Marvin Brewer; and brother, Edward White. Surviving are four children: Ralph Brewer, Kathy Fearrington (Gary), Gerald Brewer (Deanne), and Carolyn Haynes (Frankie); eight grandchildren: Leigha Smith (Dusty), Stacy Fearrington (fiancé, James Dail), Heather Byrd (Bobby), Angie Hannah (Isaac), Colby Haynes, Tanner Haynes, Elizabeth Reavis and Andrew Reavis; two great-grandchildren: Thorin and Eli; four step-great-grandchildren: Emmy, Abby, Alysha and Bobby Ray; several nieces and cousins; and a very special friend, Rex Fulk. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church with Rev. Emily and Eric Larsen officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 27 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
