Mary Ruth Brown

Ms. Mary Ruth Brown, 77, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on May 6, 2026, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.

She was born on November 28, 1948, to the late Archie “Marvin” Brown and Effie “Ruth” Slater Brown in Surry County, NC.

Mary retired from AT&T after 30 years of faithful service, and would then continue to work for Tyco before her second retirement after 15 years. She was also a devoted member of Enon Baptist Church in East Bend, NC.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Dunn; and her brother in law, Dallas Patterson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sisters, Kaye Patterson and Jane Adams; brothers, Ray (Dinah) Brown and Archie (Brenda) Brown; brother-in-law, Dewey Dunn; one niece; and six nephews.

A graveside service will be held for Mary on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Enon Baptist Church in East Bend, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
