Mary Tilley

Mrs. Mary C. Tilley, 71, of Kernersville passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Trellis Supportive Care. She was born July 30, 1947 in Forsyth County to David Childress, Sr. and Ruby Vawter Childress.  Mrs. Tilley was a member of First Christian Church of Kernersville.  She was a graduate of Hanes High School and was retired from Sara Lee.  Following her retirement she worked part time at Lisa’s Diner and Card Sharks.  She was a full time dedicated unconditional loving mother.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lee Tilley, Sr., her grandson, Tyler Wayne Tilley, her father, David Childress, Sr. and her brother David Childress, Jr. Survivors include two sons, Johnny Wayne Tilley and wife, Angie of Belews Creek and Richard (Ricky) Lee Tilley, Jr. of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Trent, Trace, Raygan, Nic and Kaylin; her mother, Ruby Vawter Linville of Winston-Salem; three brothers, Tommy, Doug and Gray; and two sisters, Pat and Debbie.  The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Minister John Gatling officiating.  Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
