Mary 'Maynell' Hedgecock Davenport

KERNERSVILLE - Mary ""Maynell"" Hedgecock Davenport, 69, a grandmother who dearly loved her grandchildren, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born November 28, 1944 in Guilford Co. to the late Ray Reitzel Hedgecock, Sr. and Rosa Glascoe Hedgecock. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Ray Davenport, Sr. on December 13, 2011; daughter, Lisa Davenport; three sisters and three brothers. Surviving are her daughter, Cammie Cain and husband, Scott; son, Lewis Ray Davenport, Jr. and wife, April; five grandchildren, Matt and Ryan Cain, Lily, Lewis, and Eli Davenport; two brothers, Reitzel and Frank Hedgecock; and several special nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
