“Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” Mary Frances Parks Douglas, 87 of Pfafftown, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, August 23, 2024. She was born on October 6, 1936, in Yadkin County to the late Ellis and Mallie Marsh Parks. Mary was a member of Lewisville Baptist Church and worked at Mayberry’s Ice Cream for 52 years. Mary enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was “maw maw Mary” to Fallon. She never missed a dance recital, graduation, or a chance to go shopping. Mary was dedicated to her family, especially her mother, Mallie, and her sisters and brothers whom she loved dearly. Preceding her in death was her beloved son, Marty Douglas; three sisters, Katherine Ellis, Jean Hall, and infant Jane Parks and four brothers, Jack, Jim, Larry, and Fred Parks. Mary leaves to cherish precious memories to her devoted daughter, Tammy Douglas Wagoner and husband, Garland; granddaughter, Fallon Wagoner; three sisters, Faye Holton, Sue Reavis, and Carolyn Bell (Bud); also surviving are many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Boonville Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. The family will greet friends and family at the graveside. The family would like to send special thanks to Trellis Supportive Care and Trinity Glen nursing staff for their care of Mary. Also, to Dr. Baute and Dr. Laura Elizabeth McKay with Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Health and to Jacob Cook with Yadkin Valley Home Health for never giving up on Mary’s diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
