Mary Ida Spaugh Foltz

Mrs. Mary Ida Spaugh Foltz, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Salemtowne. She was born March 3, 1924 in Forsyth County to Walter Lewis and Ethel Irene Brewer Spaugh. Mrs. Foltz was a life-long member of Friedberg Moravian Church where she was active in Circle 3 of the Women's Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Sylvester Foltz on December 11, 2005; two sisters, Etta Kimel and Betty Evans; and two brothers Herbert Spaugh and Jim Spaugh. Surviving are one son, Richard Steven Foltz and daughter-in-law, Lynn; one daughter, Barbara Foltz Davis and husband Jay; four grandchildren, Andrew Steven Foltz (Lauren), Jonathan Barrett Foltz (Elizabeth), Meredith Davis Clay (Jeff), and Megan Davis Wells (Brent); five great grandchildren, Taylor Clay, Davis Clay, Jenna Clay, Caleb Wells, and Amy Wells; a sister, Martha Ann Isley; a brother, Arthur Spaugh; two sisters-in-law, Doris Beauchamp Foltz and T. Dale Fogleman Spaugh; a brother-in-law, Earl Evans: and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 21 at Friedberg Moravian Church with the Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. and the Rev. G. Thomas Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
