Mary Gallins

Mrs. Mary Tsiolkas Gallins, 93, of Winston-Salem, passed away on September 7, 2017 at her residence. Mary was born in Monastiraki Eurytania, Greece, on January 14, 1924 to Eleftarios and Ourania Gioldasis Tsiolkas. She was a devoted member of the Greek Orthodox Church where she was a member of the Daughters of Evrytania, Philoptochos Society and also, the Velouchi organization. She was a recipient of the Archangel Michael Award for her services in the church. But most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to all she came in contact with. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul J. Gallins; son, John P. Gallins and two brothers, Jim and Gus Tsiolkas. She is survived by her daughter, Georgia Gallins Bobotsiares and husband Stavros of Winston-Salem; son, Teddy Gallins and wife Helen of Winston-Salem; her daughter-in-law, Maria Gallins; seven grandchildren, Pete Bobotsiares and wife Zoe, Romalea Pappas and husband Johnny, Andrew Bobotsiares, Maria Gallins, Paul T. Gallins and wife Zena, Paul J. Gallins, Tina and husband Deno Frangakis; six great grandchildren, Georgia and Stavros Bobotsiares, Thomas and John Frangakis, Eleni Gallins, Demetri Pappas; two sisters, Bessie Gallins of Winston-Salem and Stavroula Hodges and husband James of Winston-Salem; sisters-in-law, Alice Piedad, Helen G. Tsiolkas and Helen J. Tsiolkas. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 11, 2017, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Father Demetri Kangelaris and Father Costa Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., with a Trisagion Service at 7:30 p.m., at the church.
