Mary Virginia Masten Johnson

Mrs. Mary Virginia Masten Johnson, 83, of Winston-Salem went to heaven to be with Jesus on Monday, September 7, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born January 23, 1926 to Hershal T. and Mattie Masten. Mrs. Johnson was a loving, kind and giving mother and wife who would do anything for you if she could. She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Johnson. Surviving are her three children who loved her very much, Jerry Johnson and Jimmy Johnson, both of Winston-Salem, and Bonnie Sue Wagoner of Jonesville; three grandchildren, Jamie Wylie, Jeffrey and Gary Wagoner; and six great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 at Parklawn Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Bill Chatman officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
