Mary Ann Lankford

KERNERSVILLE -- Miss Mary Ann Lankford, 77, died Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Murdock Developmental Center. Mary Ann was born on July 9, 1936 in Forsyth County to the late Noah Cornelius and Mary Vanhoy Lankford. Mary Ann was disabled from birth but showed no limitations in the love that she shared with her family. She had a unique personality, enjoyed listening to music, reading and especially taking care of her baby dolls. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by four brothers, James William, Bobby Harold, Harvey Lee and Donnie Ray Lankford. Surviving are her sister, Peggy Hoover and husband, Harold; several loving nieces and nephews; and her extended family at Murdock Developmental Center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory . The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ridgeway Cottage - Murdock Center for the love and care they gave to Mary Ann.
