Mrs. Mary Lou Williams Fishel, 89, of Clemmons, passed away Friday, June 14, 2019.

Mary was born September 28, 1929 in Yadkin County to Earlie and Ruby Williams.  She graduated from Gray High School in 1947 and married Hobart “Joe” Fishel on April 9, 1955.  They were married for 25 years and he preceded her in death.  Mary was a member of Enterprise Moravian Church, where she taught children and worked in the kitchen.  She also served as church treasurer for 1 ½ years and choir director on two different occasions.  Mary worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s construction company until his death, and then for Foltz Concrete until her retirement at age 65.

Mary is survived by her brother, Ernest Ray Williams; nephew, Ernest “Sonny” Williams, Jr.; and several great nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Arkon Stewart officiating.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

The family would like to thank the staff of Trinity Elms, especially Mary’s good friend, Mrs. Shirley Leonard, who spent many hours helping with special care.
