Mary Cecil McKee Mallett, 81, passed away on July 10, 2026, at her residence in Clemmons, NC.

Mary was born on December 15, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Loy and Mary Catherine McKee. She worked in financial investments with Smith Barney and Stephens Inc. For over thirty years, she was a great mentor and friend at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Winston-Salem, NC, where she warmly welcomed countless new members. She also loved flowers and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Ellen Keegan, brother, Gus Lachowsky Jr., and stepfather, Gus Lachowsky. She is survived by her daughter, Irene Lyerly (John); son, Patrick Mallett (Kristin Oguntoyinbo); special friend, Kelvyn Long; grandchildren, Mary Tellup, Madison Tellup, Collin Mallett (Camile), Riley Mallett, Adele Lyerly, Heather Lyerly, Amira Oguntoyinbo, Roman Oguntoyinbo, Leo Oguntoyinbo; honorary grandson, Owen McCormack; and beloved dog, Charlotte.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at The Granary at WinMock at Kinderton, 168 E Kinderton Way, Bermuda Run, NC 27006. Friends are welcome to drop in at any time during the Celebration of Life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Trellis Supportive Care, and specifically her nurse, Theresa, for providing exceptional compassion, dignity, and comfort to Mary during her final days.
