Mary "Nana" Goldsmith Hyatt

Mary “Nana” Goldsmith Hyatt, 74, of King, went home to be with her Lord while surrounded by her loving family at Forsyth Medical Center on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Mary was born in South Carolina on April 30, 1950, and three days later she was adopted by the late James Warren Goldsmith, Jr. and Mattie Laughlin Goldsmith. She retired after a fulfilling career as a Day Care Director. Mary was a faithful member of Forsyth Park Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. She adored her church family and the time she spent in church. Mary never failed to make an impression on anyone she met. She took the time to make friends everywhere she went, and as a world traveler, she never met a stranger. Mary gained a love for traveling during her first career as a flight attendant with Piedmont Airlines. After her retirement, she took many cruises with her husband Dennis to numerous places all over the world. Mary was a Godly woman who had a love for her family and anyone else she met. You knew she loved you because she never missed an opportunity to tell you just how much. Mary will be missed immensely by all her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Isenhour. Left to cherish Mary’s memory are her husband of 51 years, Dennis Hyatt of the home; a daughter, Aimee Blain Hoyle and husband Jeff, of Clyde, NC; a grandson, Brian Hoyle; sisters-in-law, Beth Isenhour and Aletha Pardue (Randy); and a brother-in-law, Hank Hyatt. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Heather Shearer and the beloved staff of the Novant Health Cancer Institute, as well as the staff on 9 West at Forsyth Medical Center for the loving care they showed to Mary. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Forsyth Park Baptist Church, with Pastor Bill Horton and Pastor Tom Southern officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Forsyth Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Forsyth Park Baptist Church, 1600 S Hawthorne Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Online condolences can be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
