Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Boger Wilkins Pitts, 96, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at Brookstone Terrace in Clemmons. She was born May 25, 1920 in Forsyth County to the late Frank Masten Boger and Sallie Ann Pinnix Boger. Mrs. Pitts was a proud member of the King Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. A lover of nature, Mary enjoyed many trips to the mountains and coastal areas, never ceasing to marvel at God's wonders. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pitts was preceded in death by her stepmother, Fannie Florence Fulp Boger; first husband, Joe Bill Wilkins; son, Melvin Robert Wilkins; second husband, Cornelius A. Pitts; stepson, Jerry Cornelius Pitts; four sisters: Hazel B. Culler, Mildred B. Yates, Nannie Kate Fulp White, and Hervie B. Brand; and two brothers, Richard Masten Boger and William Edward Boger. She is survived by two grandchildren, Shanna Wilkins Parker (Frank) and Jay Robert Wilkins (Lisa); daughter-in-law, Olivia Thompson Wilkins; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; two stepdaughters, Audrey Pitts Bodenhamer and Connie Pitts Carper, and several step-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Bro. Lawrence Langdon officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the King Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 416 Hartgrove Road, King, NC 27021 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
