Mary Lee Cranfill Reid, 92, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center.
Mary was born on September 22, 1925 in Yadkin County to the late Thomas Calvin and Victoria Long Cranfill. She worked for Western Electric for several years, then she went on to work as an Administrative Assistant in the German and Philosophy department of Wake Forest University, where she eventually retired from. Mary was a former member of Trinity Christian Church and then later, First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Evan Reid, Jr.; her parents; and her brother, Charles "Gus" Cranfill. Surviving family includes her son, Thomas "Larry" Reid of New York; granddaughter, Brie Reid of Maine; one sister, Ruth Morgan of Winston-Salem; three nieces, Sharon Fox of Winston-Salem, Dianne (Alan) Millikan of Germanton, and Terri (Glenn) Southern of King; one grandniece; five grandnephews; and numerous extended family. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Forsyth Memorial Park, with Rev. Susan Halford officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mary's memory may be made to the organization of your choosing. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
