Mary Rothrock

Mrs. Mary Lee Stoker Rothrock, 91, passed away at home on Thursday, March 8, 2018. She was born on August 30, 1926 to Myrtle Jenkins Stoker and Quincey Watson Stoker in Davidson County. Mary graduated from Gray High School. She was a member of Waughtown Baptist Church. Following retirement from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., she traveled extensively and enjoyed ballroom dancing. She volunteered for numerous charities including, Make-A-Wish, Brenner Children's Hospital, The Little Theatre, Vantage and Crosby Golf Tournaments, to name a few. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Hampton Rothrock; as well as brothers, Quincey "Q.W." Stoker, and William "Wicky" Stoker; and sisters, Bessie Miller, Doris Everhart, Bettie Reed, and Louise Davis. Surviving are her children, Terry W. Rothrock of Kernersville, Sherry R. Leigh of Minneapolis, MN, and Tim G. Rothrock (Sherry) of Clemmons; grandchildren, Tyson, Mandi, Adam, Hannah, Wade, and Julia; great grandchild, Karma Grace; and devoted friend, Roy Cox. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 12, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek with Preacher Eddie Brackett and Rev. Mike Sands officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103; or Waughtown Baptist Church, 1538 Waughtown St; Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27107.
