Mary Snyder

Ms. Mary Rose James Snyder, 91, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.  Mary was born in Forsyth County on April 16, 1927, to the late Joseph Franklin James and Sadie Phelps James.  She was an active member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Graylen Snyder; three brothers, five sisters, and one son-in-law, Ronnie White.  Mary is survived by four daughters, Ann Wheeler (James), Wanda Sink (Buddie), Barbara Kay White, and Deborah Nifong (Eddie); one son, Wayne Snyder (Reida); thirteen grandchildren, Tammy Turner (Kevin), Jamie Wheeler, Grey Sink (Paul), Adam White (Linda), Seth White (Jen), Kala Tobin (Adam), Jake White (Alicia), John Snyder (Ashley), Stephanie Tidwell (Chris), Meredith Rollins (Adam), Kristin North (Adam), Kendall Nifong (Andy), and Kacie Mintz (Joe); twenty-four great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Dr. Mary Miller and Rev. Kenneth Eller officiating.  Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 4265 Ebert Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27127.  Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family of Ms. Snyder.
