Mary Jane West Spach

Winston-Salem- Mrs. Mary (Janie) West Spach was called to her Heavenly home late Tuesday evening, January 28, 2014. She was 84 years old. Janie was born October 12, 1929 to Ila Grubbs West and Edward F. West, Sr. She was the youngest of five children, all whom along with her parents, preceded her in death. Janie was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. She graduated from Clemmons School and was a proud homemaker. Her husband, children, and grandchildren were her life. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert (Bob) Spach; two daughters, Wanda Griffin and husband Ronnie, Rita Berrier and husband Danny; four grandchildren, Jennifer Autry and husband Paul Jr., Jordan Griffin, Adam Griffin, Brandi Latham and husband Kenny, and one great-grandson, Ethan Latham. The family would like to acknowledge a special caregiver, Michele Hinkle for all the love she has given to our Mama the last four months. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, January 31, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Chris Byrne officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to New Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, 4258 Old Lexington Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
