Mary Betty Phifer Sparks

Mary Betty Phifer Sparks, 96, of Lewisville, NC, died Wednesday, March 6, 2024. She was born August 1, 1927, to Mary Albertine Hunter Phifer and Fred Benjamin Phifer of Statesville, NC. Betty was a longtime member of Clemmons Moravian Church. She loved to work in her flower gardens, walk in the park and watch the sky looking at birds, clouds and sunsets. Betty was much loved by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Davis “Jack” Sparks, Jr.; daughter, Cynthia Sparks Jones; and a son, John Sparks. Betty is survived by two sons, Jim Sparks and Drew Sparks, both of Lewisville; granddaughter, Katie Jones and her husband, Ehsan Tabari of San Francisco, CA; granddaughter, Amy Jones of Winston-Salem; grandson, Desmond Harris of Lewisville; grandson, Richard Jones and son-in-law, Rick Jones, both of Clemmons. A private family graveside service will be held.
