Mary Edith Johnson Spry

Mary Edith Johnson Spry died at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Lexington Medical Center on June 19, 2013. She was born in Hoke County, NC. , to Flora J. Parrish Johnson and William J. Johnson on June 27 1915. She spent most of her adult life in Davidson County, where she was actively involved in the farm she and her late husband and other family members tended and loved for many years. She was a quiet and loving lady who was always interested in the lives of her family and dearly loved all of them. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Spry, a grandson, Jon Moore and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Shelby Stone and husband J.D. of Winston-Salem and Judy Evans and husband Eddie of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren, Donnie Stone and wife Carolyn of Charlotte, NC, Mitch Scott and wife Leila of Richmond, VA, Alicia Whicker and husband Daryl of Winston-Salem, NC, and Deborah Truell and husband Greg of Winston-Salem, NC.; six great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, June 22 from 1:00 to 2:00 with the service immediately following at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Jeff Baity officiating. Burial will be at Parklawn Memorial Gardens following the service. The family would especially like to thank the Abbotts Creek Care Center and staff and the staff and doctors at the Wake Forest Baptist Health-Lexington Medical Center for the excellent care given to our loved one.
