Mary Louise Garner Sykes

Mrs. Mary Louise Garner Sykes, a lovely angel that finally got her wings, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning December 19, 2012, after battling a long illness. Mary was born on March 1, 1936 in Forsyth County, to the late Robah and Jewel Ashley Garner. She was a long time member and loved worshiping the Lord at Central Tabernacle Church. Mary was preceded in death by husband Carl Edwards Sykes; and son Carl Randal ""Randy"" Sykes. Surviving to cherish her memory is daughters Deborah Puryear and husband Billy and Mary Searcy; grandchildren Lisa Beasley, Crystal Norris, and Billy Puryear, Jr.; great grandchildren Whitney Puryear, Bridget Puryear, Jacob Puryear, Jacob Norris, Cheyene Norris, and Trevor Beasley; brothers Mike Garner, Eddie Cleveland, Gene Garner, and Robah Garner, Jr.; and sisters Marie Myers, Betty Cain, Jackie Everhart, and Judy Jones. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Sandra Bovender officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
