Matthew Taylor Bronson

Mr. Matthew Taylor Bronson passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon February 3, 2016. He was born in Forsyth County on June 16, 1980 to Bruce and Gwen Bronson. Matthew enjoyed the outdoors especially playing disc golf. He was an Eagle Scout and hiked the Appalachian Trail for two summers. Matthew studied Chemical Engineering at N.C. State and Bio Chemistry and Physics at Winston-Salem State University. While at Winston-Salem State, Matthew received a Deans Award for Chemistry Research. He loved everybody and it was hard to leave a conversation with Matthew, without feeling admired or respected. Matthew grew his hair out for three years so he could donate it to children who had lost their hair during battles with cancer. Matthew's character, love, and appreciation for others will always be cherished by everyone that had the privilege of meeting him. He was preceded in death by a brother Benjamin Bronson; and his maternal grandparents Venton and Edna Hines. Matthew is survived by his parents Bruce and Gwen Bronson; a brother Kyle Bronson and future sister in law Shannon Stewart; a sister Jenna Welch and husband Cory; nephews Devon and Keegan Bronson; paternal grandparents Leo and Lela Bronson; and several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:30 PM on Monday February 8, 2016 at Pinedale Christian Church with Pastor Bill McKenzie officiating.
