Mattie Oakalee Hatcher

Mattie Oakalee Hatcher, 81, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at her home in Rural Hall. She was born in Stokes Co. on September 18, 1944, the daughter of the late Wallace and Linda Eliza Dearman Hatcher. Mattie loved the Lord and was a longtime member of St. James United Methodist Church. She was a hard working lady who will be remembered for always spreading God’s word and loving her family dearly. Mattie is survived by her three children, Jennifer Moser, Sammy Dearman and Niki Reid; her four grandchildren, Finesse Hatcher, Maya Hatcher, Zion Hatcher and Duvall Hatcher; one great-grandchild, Yasmine Blakely, and two special nephews, Wallace Hatcher and Randall Conrad, along with many other nieces, nephews and extended family. A memorial service will be conducted at 11am on Monday, October 27, 2025, at St. James United Methodist Church in Rural Hall with Rev. Ashley White officiating.
