On Saturday, August 20, 2016 at approximately 3:45 am-an angel was waiting at the gates of heaven for Maureen Anne Freeman. This day marked the beginning of her new life in heaven, walking hand and hand with Christ, Our Lord and Savior.
Maureen Anne Freeman, passed away around 3:45 am at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Center on Saturday, August 20. Maureen was preceded in death by her father William Morphy, her mother Ellen Morphy and her brother Dave Morphy. She is survived by her husband, James Alexander Freeman and her two children Chris Freeman and Misty Freeman Keith. She also leaves behind 6 beautiful grandchildren: Dylan Freeman, Austin Freeman, Dakota Freeman, Shylayah Keith, Terrence Keith and Nicholas Keith.
Maureen and James met in 1966 and married on November 30, 1968. They shared 47 ½ endless loving years together-and while they cannot be together on this earth any longer, they are bound together for eternity, in an endless, everlasting love. The mutual care and warmth they had for one another is and was absolutely limitless.
Maureen lived her early life in Springfield, Illinois with her parents and her only brother. Later, at 11 years of age herself, her parents and her younger brother moved to Winston-Salem, NC where her father was transferred to work for a well-established company. From her early years, until the time of her passing, Maureen spread love, warmth and happiness everywhere she went. She touched many lives with her bright, positive attitude, and her friendly smile. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and remained passionate in her faith throughout her life. She was a beacon of hope to so many throughout the years.
In regards to her career and work history, Maureen was a hard worker and spent a great many years of her life in the career world. She worked in the ER department at a community hospital in Bradenton, Florida and later moved and worked in medical records at a major hospital in Greenville, SC.
Maureen was given an opportunity to work with Marilyn Casualty Insurance, following her previous positions. This was a private insurance company and she happily took on that new role. She enjoyed her career and worked diligently, always taking on work of others and proving herself to be a very valuable employee to the company. Maureen was offered advancements several times in her career before she had to leave on disability-due to her continuing declining health in 1987.
Maureen was a wife, a mother, a daughter and a friend to strangers. She was well liked in her community and she will be so desperately missed. Her family mourns her passing and prays for peace and comfort during these very difficult times. Maureen might be gone from this world, but she will always be here, living within the hearts of all those she left behind.
