Max Carlton Bailey

Mr. Max Carlton Bailey, 93, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Salemtowne Retirement Community.

Max was born December 14, 1922 in Forsyth Co. to the late Robert and Vivian Bailey. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Philippines. He retired after 44 years of service as a Foreman at Sara Lee Manufacturing.

Max is survived by his wife, Josephine McCarthy Bailey, of the home; son, David C. Bailey and wife Carolyn of Clemmons; grandchildren, Sarah Peninger and Laura McMahan; great-grandchildren, Erin Elise Peninger, Max Thomas Peninger, and Lucy Grace McMahan; brother, Hassell Bailey of Greenville, NC; and sister, Mildred Wolfington of Belmont, NC.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 2 pm at Messiah Moravian Church.
