May Arbutus Hendrix

Mrs. May Arbutus Moore Hendrix, 97, died peacefully on February 24, 2024. She was born on May 28, 1926, to the late Grady Moore and Eunice Allen Moore in Forsyth County, NC. 

Artie attended Hanes High School, and as a star basketball player she was voted the most athletic in her class. After graduation she went to work for Highfill Insurance for the next five years before starting a family with her husband Frank Osborne Hendrix. They were married on June 12, 1948. 

Artie is survived by her daughters Melinda and Betsy Lenora and three grandchildren.
