Melanie Lynn Baldovin

Melanie Lynn Baldovin, 43, passed away at her home on August 16, 2016. Melanie was born on May 24, 1973 in Forsyth County. She loved spending time with her family and friends, as well as her three dogs. Melanie proudly served in the U.S. Navy, retiring after 22 years of dedicated service. Her assignments included Italy, Iceland and the Bahamas, and she received an extensive education and a long list of awards. After returning home in 2014, Melanie was employed by American Airlines. Surviving to cherish her memory are her parents, Judy Miller Huffman and Bert Huffman of Mocksville; sister, Shannon Puterbaugh and brother-in-law, Mark Puterbaugh of Greensboro; and brother, George Huffman of Wilkesboro. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Salisbury National Cemetery with Pastor John Fair officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2106 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Melanie Baldovin's memory may be made to the Humane Society in your county or to the Salisbury VA Medical Center, 1601 Brenner Avenue, Salisbury, NC 28144.
