Michael Corder

Michael Wayne Corder entered Heaven's gates on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Mike passed away at age 55 in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born in Pulaski, VA on August 16, 1962, the son of late Paul Francis Corder and Brenda Martin Corder. He is survived by his two children, Jennifer Corder of Asheboro, NC and Christopher Corder of Bedford, VA; his ex-wife, Lorie Corder of Winston-Salem, NC; his brother, Stephen Corder (Tammy) of Dublin, VA; three aunts, Frieda Bonham of Wytheville, VA, Linda Townley (Eddie) of Bland, VA, and Connie Lovell (Curt) of Max Meadows, VA; and one uncle, Jerry Martin (Barbara) of Max Meadows, VA. Mike's love and fascination for trains and planes began with him graduating from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, which led to a career in aviation. He passionately gave endless hours to his job where he was employed with United Airlines as a Quality Control Manager. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Fort Chiswell Church of God with Pastor Terry Eversole officiating. Burial will follow in West End Cemetery in Wytheville, VA. Friends are invited to join Mike's family in celebration of his life from 7:00-9:00 pm Friday, January 26, 2018, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall, NC, and again on Saturday, January 27, 2018, 12:00-2:00 pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
