Michael Duane Douglas, Sr.

Mr. Michael Duane Douglas Sr., 64, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Forsyth County on October 27, 1952, to Herman and Winona Turner Douglas. Michael served proudly in the United States Army. He worked at Tanglewood for 14 and a half years, loved golf, and was an avid fisherman with his sidekick poodle, Mushroom. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Douglas. Surviving are his best friend and love of his life and wife of over 40 years, Terry Douglas; two sons, Marcus Smith (Tina), Michael Duane Douglas; two sisters, Annette Douglas, and Cindy Douglas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, May 26, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Don Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
