Michael "Shane" Everhart

Mr. Michael “Shane” Everhart, 50, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

Born August 24, 1975, in Forsyth County, Shane was the son of John and Jean Everhart. A skilled craftsman, he spent much of his life working for himself in carpentry and woodworking, taking pride in creating with his hands.

Shane had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether tending to his yard and garden or spending time fishing, he found peace in nature. He even grew the prettiest tomatoes from dead tomato plants when he was only 8 years old. He was also a devoted baseball fan and cherished the companionship of his beloved dogs, Scar, Roxy, and Yazzie. Shane loved his niece, great nieces and great nephew very much and always wanted to spend as much time with them as possible. He was always playing with them and taking them on adventures.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his parents, John and Jean Everhart; his sister, Lisa Cook; his brother, Mark Everhart (Karen); his aunt, Kaye Barney; his niece, Kimberly Edmonds (Josh); his great-nieces, Keeley and Kerrigan Edmonds; his great-nephew, Bladen Edmonds; along with many extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2026, with Pastor Keith Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday evening at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC.
