Michael Eugene Holton

Mr. Michael "Mike" Eugene Holton, 75, passed away on December 18, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by his family. Mike was born in Forsyth County on November 28, 1949, to Samuel Slate Holton and Eunice Spainhour Holton. Mike spent his entire life in Winston-Salem, NC.

He was a talented wood worker and craftsman who enjoyed making customized cabinets, decks, and any additional projects on homes.

He enjoyed going to the beach and hunting for shark's teeth, coin collecting, playing cards with his lifelong friends Frank (Sharon) Carroll and watching westerns. He enjoyed the simple life and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Emily Jane Eddleman; and brother-in-law, Dennis “Dale” Joyce.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carolyn Joyce Holton; daughter, Michelle Ruch (Richie); son, Michael Eugene Holton Jr. (April); grandchildren, Cody, Megan (fiancé Matt), Rachel and Savannah; great grandchildren, Marlee, Emaura and Colden; three brothers, Johnny (Mary) Holton, Robert (Rita) Holton, and Billy (Becky) Holton; sister in-law, Cathy (Gary) Horton and Linda Joyce; along with many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Christa Warise officiating.
