Michael Thomas

Michael Leslie "Mike" Thomas entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on August 16, 2026, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

Mike was born on January 29, 1948, in Greensboro, NC, to Gene Leslie Thomas and Betty Wyrick Milder. He was a proud graduate of Grimsley High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was an avid Tar Heels supporter. After graduation, he began a lifelong career in commercial real estate lending and administration.

In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his special grandmother, Maude Wyrick, who helped raise him. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra Booze Thomas, and their sons, Ross of Asheville, NC, and Harris of New York City. Mike cherished the time he spent at his sons' baseball and basketball practices and games.
