Michael (Mike) Beauchamp

Michael (Mike) William Beauchamp, 75, went home to be with our Lord, Tuesday, October 23, 2018. He was born December 18, 1942 in Lewisville, NC to the late John Steve Beauchamp and Sallie Phelps Beauchamp. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his son M. Kevin Beauchamp and siblings Ruth Norman, Naomi Norman, Lucy Spaugh, Walter Beauchamp, Odell Beauchamp and Allen Beauchamp. Mike is survived by his wife of 53 years, Miriam Brewer Beauchamp; one son William Dennis Beauchamp (Adrienne); three grandchildren, Parker Maxwell Beauchamp, William Dennis Beauchamp, Jr., and Maggie Grace Beauchamp; daughter-in-law Julie McLamb Beauchamp; siblings Bernice Mabe (Conrad) and Clarence Beauchamp (Jean); and sister-in-law Donna Beauchamp. Following his graduation as President at Southwest High School Class of 1961, Mike graduated from UNC-Greensboro and began a career at L.A Reynolds Paving Company. In 1977, he and two business partners, Leonard W. Tilson and John R. Reynolds bought L.A. Reynolds Landscaping and established one of the preeminent garden retail stores in the area. In the early 90’s, the partnership sold the business and Mike went to work for Budd Seed, where he remained until his retirement in 2005. Mike was a lifelong member of Sharon United Methodist Church and served in many capacities. Mike suffered through over ten years of dementia at home before going to the loving care of The Almost Home – Clinard House in Thomasville, NC. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held Thursday, October 25 at 2:00 PM at Sharon United Methodist Church in Lewisville, NC. Visitation will follow the graveside burial.  Memorials in Mike’s memory may be made to the Sharon UMC Improvement Fund, 5330 Sharon Church Road, Lewisville, NC 27023.  Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel is serving the Beauchamp family.
