"Mickey" Hendrix

Mr. John Michael ""Mickey"" Hendrix, 67, died suddenly at his home on January 14, 2016. Mickey was born December 13, 1948 to John and Kathryn Hendrix, who precede him in death. He worked at R.J. Reynolds for several years. Mickey loved playing hockey, racing, growing his garden, as well as riding his motorcycle.

Mickey is survived by his cousins, Patsy Messick (Bob), Monteze Lentz (Allen), John East (Gay), and Don Swaim (Gretchen); a very special friend, Dale Roediger and her daughters, Heide College (Jack) and her children and Starr Dees (Anthony); good friends, Tony Young (Ally) and Sharon and numerous other friends at Willie's Honky Tonk; and his pride and joy, dog Mugsy.

A celebration of Mickey's life will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 11 am at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Loves United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forsyth County Humane Society, 61 Miller Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
