Mildred Barker

Mrs. Mildred Holder Barker, 92, of Lewisville, was born September 11, 1926 to Harvey and Clara Holder and died May 25, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Barker, and brothers, Odell Holder and Edward Holder. Surviving are a son, Donald Barker of Lewisville; a daughter, Paula Bell of Asheville; a grandson, Craig Barker of Lewisville; and a brother Charles Holder of Lewisville. She lived in Lewisville all her life where she sold real estate. Mrs. Barker loved bluegrass music and sang in bluegrass bands with her husband, Paul, and brother, Odell. She loved talking with and meeting people. Mrs. Barker was a member of Warner’s Chapel Church of Christ in Clemmons. She loved the Lord and got great pleasure from singing gospel songs. The family wishes to thank the staff at Trinity Elms in Clemmons, where she resided for ten years, for their great service. We also thank the staff at ComforCare of Winston-Salem and Trellis Supportive Care for their outstanding love and support. A funeral service will be conducted in her honor 2:00 PM Monday, May 27, 2019, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jerry Jones. Interment will follow at Warner’s Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
