Mildred Dotson

Mrs. Mildred Jeanne Bené Dotson, 81, of Winston-Salem, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 2, 2017. Mildred was born August 13, 1936 to John Richard Bené and Esther Reid Bené. She was a longtime member of Berean Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and was a retired school teacher that taught at Berean Christian School. She and her husband, Robert F. Dotson, Sr., were married for sixty years. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Gayle Bené. Surviving are her husband, Robert F. Dotson, Sr., four children, Sharon Smithers and husband Ron of Danville, VA, Robert Dotson, Jr. and wife Carla of Rockingham, Cindy Wright and husband Warren of Lynchburg, VA, and John Dotson and wife Angie of Walnut Cove, nine grandchildren, Amanda Park, Kortni Seagraves and husband Kevin, Frankie Dotson III, Joey Wright, Joshua Wright, Ben Wright, Crystal Wilhelm, Charity Brown and husband Cory, and John Dotson, Jr., and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Berean Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Ron Baity. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM at the church.
