Mildred Robertson

Mildred Louise Rierson Robertson, 96, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at her home. Mildred was born on January 12, 1922 in Forsyth Co. to the late Horace Early Rierson and Mary Jane Russell Rierson. She was a lifetime member of Rosemont Baptist Church and was a member of the VFW and Women's Auxiliary. Mildred liked to quilt, garden and crochet and was an excellent cook. She was also an exceptional seamstress who often made clothes for her family. She enjoyed the beach, especially trips to the family beach house. She travelled quite a bit throughout her life with her husband and family, and never missed a shopping trip with her sisters. She will be remembered as a sweet and sophisticated woman with a great sense of humor who was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the Lord and placed Him first in life, hoping the same for anyone else. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, George Hobert Robertson, Sr.; 3 sisters, Helen Rierson, Peggy Logan and Becky Whitener; and one brother, Bob Rierson. Surviving family includes her 4 children: George Hobert Robertson, Jr. and wife Sharon of Lexington, Sharon Robertson of Winston-Salem, Randall Alan Robertson and wife Judy of Westfield, and Andrea Ledford and husband Harold of Winston-Salem; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Earleen and Betty Rierson; one brother, David Rierson and wife Pat; and numerous nieces and nephews. A service will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Rosemont Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Reed officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service in Parklawn Memorial Park.
