Winston-Salem- Mrs. Mildred Ila Baity Scott, 94, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice. Mildred was born September 12, 1923 in Davie County to Edward William Baity and Flora Bell Gregory Baity. She moved to Forsyth County with her parents at an early age. Mildred was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was the oldest member in the church. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Women, an assistant Sunday school teacher for the Senior Class, was the soup maker for the church and always participated in the chicken pie making. A member of the 1942 graduating class at Clemmons High School, she was a 4-H leader for several years, a member of the Bethel Extension Homemakers Club and was an Avon representative for 19 years. She was a loving person, who loved her family, her Church family and enjoyed reading and lap quilting. She stayed active as long as her health permitted her. Mildred lost her husband of 67 years, Luther Sylvester Scott in 2010 and her daughter, Janet Kay Scott McAllister in 2014. In addition, she was preceded in death by her parents, a half-brother, Calvin Baity, a brother, Wade Baity and wife, Dorothy and 3 sisters, Vatra Trantham, Cleo Everidge and Hazel Stevenson. Survivors include her son, Ronald Edward Scott (Linda) of Winston-Salem, her grandchildren, Tammy McAllister of Lewisville, Teresa Hughes (Chris) of Raleigh, Jeff McAllister of Lewisville, Jody Scott Jenkins of Winston-Salem and Kelly Scott Hayes (Scott) of Winston-Salem; her great grandchildren, Savannah Jenkins, Chloe Jenkins, Jada Jenkins, Christina McAllister, Nicholas McAllister, Taylor Floyd, John Norman Hughes and Grayson Hughes, step-great grandchildren, Dylan Floyd and Conner Hayes, a niece, Elaine Norman (Arlis), a great niece, Becky Lewis (Jack), a great nephew, Lee Pegram (Debbie) and several great-great nieces and nephews. A funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Lisa Tanico officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
