Mildred Verzi

Mildred Havlicek Verzi, 95, passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2022. She was born on November 1, 1926, to Frank Havlicek and Lydia Pytlik Havlicek in Newark, NJ. Following retirement from Sears and Roebuck, Mildred enjoyed traveling. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church where she sang in the senior choir; and was a former member of Shenandoah Presbyterian Church in Miami, FL. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, John Verzi; first husband, James Francis Johnson; and daughter, Christy “Kiki” Johnson. Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Ring (Richard) of Shepherdsville, KY; son, James Johnson (Sandy) of Clemmons, NC; grandchildren, Jason, Heather (Patrick), Michelle (Bruce), Jimmy (Megan), and Katie; great grandchildren, Jacob, Austin, J.T., Ella, Alec and Brielle; as well as a large extended family and many loving friends and caregivers. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church.
