Miles Edward Bennett

Miles Edward Bennett, 89, entered heaven peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, March 22, 2024. Miles was born in Bradford County, PA, on October 27, 1934, to the late Harry L. Bennett and Bertha May Bennett. Miles was a graduate of Eastern Pilgrim College in Allentown, PA, where he met his wife, Cathy. He also earned a master’s degree from Trenton State College in NJ. Miles pioneered and pastored churches in Damascus, MD, Arlington, VA, Decatur, GA, and Jamesburg, NJ. He was a teacher at Monroe Township Schools in NJ and made immense impressions on the lives of the many students he taught. In 2005, Miles and Cathy joined The Gideons International where they loved, visited, and prayed for many different churches in NJ and NC. For the last ten years in Kernersville, Miles continued to serve in The Gideons International- touching the hearts of many and setting an example for those he met. He loved to share the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ with everyone, no matter their status, ethnicity, or lifestyle. Miles will be remembered for his kindness, but most of all, his dedication to the Lord. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Miles is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Catherine Cappel Bennett; brothers Carl Bennett and Dean Bennett; as well as sisters Irene Bennett and Alma Bennett.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Darryl Bennett (Laura) and Bob Bennett (Mitzi); three grandchildren, Tony Bennett, Joy Harris (Thomas), and Karen Hincher (Adam); two great-grandchildren, Sullivan Hincher, and Waylen Harris; as well as other extended family members.
