Miles Zeno Collins, Jr.

Miles “Pa” Collins, 85, passed away on Sunday, August 18th, 2024. 

 Miles Zeno Collins Jr was born on February 22, 1939 in Yadkin County to Miles (M.Z.) Sr. and Annie Collins of Jonesville, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents Zeno and Annie Collins, brothers Vernon and Alton Collins, Jimmy Burchette and his daughter Tammy Collins Mathis.

 Miles retired after over 30 years of dedicated service to the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco company. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his many grandchildren. Miles was a follower of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and a long-time member of Bethany Baptist Church in Winston Salem. He touched the lives of all those who knew him and his magnetic personality 

 He is survived by his wife, Ailene Collins of the home: two children, Beverly Smith and husband Jerry, Jeff Collins and wife Mary. His siblings are Jeanette Hinshaw, Louise Livengood and Madelline Gilmore. The grandchildren are Jason Collins and wife Brandi, Jeffery Collins and wife Kailey, Nathaniel Treece as well as Natalie and Peyton Smith. Great-grandchildren are Victoria Steelman, Dustyn, Haleigh and Jaxon Collins, Jeana and Peyton Thomason as well as Jase and Ava Collins. One great great grandchild, Oaklynn Thomason.

 A funeral service will be held at 2pm Thursday, with Dr. Brad Stamey and Rev Brian Alverson officiating at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 305 Bethania Rural Hall Rd. The family will receive friends and family from 1pm - 2pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall, NC.
