On Friday, January 27, 2017, Mama's 18 year battle with alzheimers ended and her life in Heaven began. Mrs. Helen Romilda ""Millie"" Gentle Plemmons was born January 10, 1929 in Forsyth County to the late Lewis Richmond Gentle and Eva Kathleen Murphy Gentle. She was preceded in death by her first husband, C. G. ""Bill"" Plemmons, Jr.; her two sons, Lewis Plemmons and Terry Plemmons; two sisters, Doris McBride and Carolyn Ratcliff; three brothers, Richard, Harold and Bob Gentle. Mrs. Plemmons is survived by her husband, Robert Peter ""Bob"" Milne of Mt. Airy; her daughter, Tammie Plemmons of King; three sons, Roger Plemmons and wife Kathy of Clemmons, Steve Plemmons of Rural Hall and Jeff Plemmons and wife Teresa of Ocala, FL; a daughter-in-law, Sandra L. Plemmons; ten grandchildren, Shane Plemmons and wife Beth, Shannon Knoll, Sterling Plemmons, Shawna Plemmons, Christopher Watson, Christina Mabe, Chad Watson, Micah Plemmons and wife Adrienne, Morgan Plemmons and Macy Plemmons; eight great-grandchildren, Jon Knoll, Jr., Ashton Ellis, Jackson Stowers, Olivia Watson, Caleb Mabe, Faith Mabe, Lauren Plemmons and Maggie Plemmons; two sister-in-law's, Shirley Gentle and Ollie Gentle. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, January 30, 2017 at Marshall Baptist Church with the Rev. John Holmes officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Trinity Elms Memory Unit, who loved and cared for Millie. Special thanks to her caregivers- Margo, Nita, Harmony, Chelsea, Teresa, Norma, Jennifer, Brian, Mark, Allison, Beckah and Heather. A very special thanks to Bob Milne for his dedication to visiting, taking Mama for walks, bingo, entertainment, ice cream shop, and sitting on the porch and patio. Mama cherished all of the trips they made together and the weekly meals with Roger and Kathy on Sundays. To Roger and Kathy, for their dedication to visit, taking care of all of her needs, doctor and emergency room visits, and her accounting and tax records.
